MBU Baseball Alum Alex Adams Signs with Evansville Otters

JOLIET, Ill. – Missouri Baptist University alum Alex Adams signed a professional contract with the Evansville Otters of the Frontier League, a partner league of Major League Baseball. Adams joined the team in Joliet, Ill., on Tuesday night and started at second base against the Joliet Slammers.

Adams is coming off a 2024 campaign with the Spartans in which he earned a spot on the NAIA All-America Third Team and helped MBU to the first American Midwest Conference Tournament Championship in nine seasons. In 54 games, he hit .385 with 22 home runs, 71 runs batted in, and a 1.298 on-base plus slugging percentage.

Over his MBU career, the shortstop from Wildwood, Mo., amassed a .356 batting average, 35 home runs, 172 RBI, a .461 on-base percentage, and 76 extra-base hits in 152 games. He was a two-time All-AMC selection and a three-time AMC Player of the Week winner.

"I am extremely excited Alex has received this opportunity," said MBU Head Baseball Coach Eddie Uschold. "Alex has earned this chance, and through his leadership, dedication, and hard work, he has put himself in this position. He will do well."

Adams joined an Otters squad looking for a spark after starting 2024 with an 18-28 record. He and his new club finish the three-game series against the Slammers over the next two nights before heading to Evansville, Ind., for a three-game weekend set with the New England Knockouts.
