Carlos Hidalgo was selected as the Heart of America Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week on Monday, April 20, after leading No. 6 Missouri Baptist University baseball to a series win at Central Methodist University over the weekend.

The senior from La Romana, Dominican Republic, clubbed four home runs last week with six RBI, a .474 batting average (9-for-19), and a 1.741 on-base plus slugging percentage.

Hidalgo currently sits second in the Heart this season in batting average (.421), RBI (50), and home runs (13).

On Tuesday, April 14, at home against Columbia College (Mo.), he tallied a pair of hits, two runs, a solo home run, and a walk to help a 9-2 win. He followed up in the four-game series at Central Methodist with a home run in each of the first three games while totaling five RBI.
