In her first year of collegiate wrestling, Helen claimed the Women's Collegiate Wrestling Association National Title at 59 kg. She is the first women's wrestler at MBU to win a national title, in the program's second year of competition.

Helen is a native of Magruder, Maryland, where she attended Marquette Senior High School.
