MBU WRESTLING ROCK SOLID AT COE COLLEGE OPEN

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Missouri Baptist men's wrestling is already very impressive this season. The team's performance at the Coe College Open was very strong, finishing with several wrestlers placing in their respective weight classes.

In the 125lb class, it was literally all MBU as Gabe Roman faced Detorious Prayther in the championship. Roman took the match posting MBU's only championship on the day.

In the 149lb class, Esmond Ford won over Harper College's Blake Santi 9-7 by decision to move to the semifinals. Ford was defeated by Harper's Josh Tardy in the sending him to the third place match. The junior from St. Louis pinned Iowa Western's Kasey Einerson to finish the day with a win.

In the 174lb class, A.J. Carter-Johnson placed fifth as well as Luis Contreras in the heavyweight division, but Weston Keleher and Julius Anglikus also put in big performances.

Keleher finished third in the 184lb class after pinning Derek Geddings of Iowa Wesleyan. Anglikus also placed third in the heavyweight division with a major decision win over Iowa Western's Aaron Satterwhite 17-7.

Missouri Baptist will head back out on the road on Tuesday, Nov. 27 for a road dual with Hannibal-LaGrange.
