WOMEN'S WRESTLING SWEEPS USM AND LU-BELLEVILLE
ST. LOUIS—[USM FINAL RESULTS] [LUB FINAL RESULTS] Missouri Baptist Women's Wrestling picked up victories over the University of St. Mary (Kan.) and Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.) at the Petty SRC on Thursday night.
MBU started the night against USM and totaled a 37-10 win. With six open spots for the visiting Spires, Missouri Baptist was looking good from the start. Crystal Zamarripa was the lone Spartan to gain victory through competition as she pinned Jazmine Santos.
Things did not come as easy in the second match of the night but MBU was able to handle Lindenwood-Belleville 29-12. After Maria Ahumada won by open forfeit, Kayla Walker won by fall over Angelique Terrones-Cruz. Marki Simmons then picked up a fall victory over Maya Shimizu.
Dymond Guilford and Darcie Manning-O'Brien wrapped it up with victories in the 170 and 191 class, respectively.
The Spartans will be back in action this weekend at the NAIA Invitational in Campbellsville, Ky.
