Spartans Claim Individual, Team Title at Virginia McCoy Intercollegiate

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Missouri Baptist University women's golf team will be coming back to St. Louis on Tuesday with both an individual and team title from the Virginia McCoy Intercollegiate, hosted by Park University at The Deuce at The National Golf Club. As a group, the Spartans carried a seven-stroke lead into Tuesday's final round and held off a surging Park squad defeating the American Midwest Conference foe by four.
Carly Ferguson, who paced the Spartans and the tournament field both days, claimed the outright individual title firing off an 80-84—164 (+22). Ferguson won in convincing fashion as her closest competitor was 10 strokes behind.
Joining Ferguson among the top 10 finishers was MBU's Teri Hartman after carding a 95-92—187. The remainder of the Spartans placed in the top 15 including

This week's two-day tournament served as the final tune up for Missouri Baptist before the AMC Championship on May 7-8 in Eugene, Mo.
