GULF SHORES, Ala. – Following the second day of action at the NAIA Men's & Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, Missouri Baptist University has made its way into the team standings following a stellar performance from Megan McCrary. The sophomore sensation claimed silver in the triple jump and bumped the Spartans into 20th overall on the women's side.

Saturday marks the final day of competition in Gulf Shores and MBU will look to finish strong with Tremaine Bobo and freshman Adam Vincent competing in the men's triple jump and men's pole vault, respectively.

Day Two
In the first of two events for Megan McCrary on Friday, the sophomore finished 28th out of 32 competitors in the 100-meter hurdles. However, it was her second performance of the day in the triple jump that turned heads at the National Championships. The St. Peters, Mo. native registered a season-best 11.86 meters in her sixth and final attempt. As the 12th overall seed coming in, McCrary leapfrogged 10 competitors to find her way onto the podium. With the second-place finish, she was named an NAIA All-American.

On the men's side, Tremaine Bobo kicked off his second NAIA Outdoor National Championship appearance with the long jump. Entering the event with the fourth best mark, he could not quite reach 7.47 meters that he had recorded earlier in the season. Bobo's best jump of the day came on his second attempt at 7.07m, which put him 10th overall and just two spots shy of earning All-American honors.

Elijah McNairy logged another top-15 performance for the Spartan athletes in the 110-meter hurdles. Competing in what was the fastest heat of the short-distance hurdle event, McNairy improved his time by .25 seconds and finished sixth place in Heat 3.  The St. Louis native went from being seeded dead last (30th) to 14th overall.

Kyle Christopher, a first-time NAIA qualifier, followed suit and moved up eight spots to 12th overall by day's end. With a best of 47.03 meters in the discus throw on Friday, the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Outstanding Field Athlete was less than a meter away from a top-10 finish.

Day One
On Thursday, Missouri Baptist had two student-athletes kick off the championship action in the women's 400-meter hurdles and women's 3,000-meter steeplechase. Faith Reynolds took fourth place in her heat and jumped up seven spots to 13th place overall. Reynolds improved her seed time by more than a second as she crossed the finish line at 1:02.90.

First-time qualifier Rebecca Starrett participated in the 3,000-meter steeplechase finishing 23rd overall with a time of 12:09.95.
