ESPORTS WEEKEND RECAP: 10/28/19

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Spartans had a couple of regular-season matches over the weekend as their League of Legends team competed in the Collegiate Star League (CSL) and the Overwatch squad competed in Tespa matches.
 
League of Legends CSL Regular Season

Roster:
 
vs University of Missouri (L, 1-2)
  • MBU played an assassin/dive comp game one
  • The Spartans won game one thanks to a few key picks
  • Mizzou took game two thanks to strong dive play
  • After losing pressure early in game three, the Spartans never regained control
 
Overwatch Tespa Regular Season

Roster:
 
vs University of South Florida (W, 2-0)
  • MBU struggled against USF in game one but narrowly pulled out the control map 2-1
  • Pushed to victory with a clean performance on King's Row
  • Ryan Green controlled the pace of the game with his Moria play
 
vs California State University (L, 0-2)
  • The Spartans narrowly lost on the control map Lijang Tower 0-2.
  • CSU had a strong attack on King's row, leading them to victory
 
Missouri Baptist Rocket League and League of Legends teams continue this Saturday in the Collegiate Star League. The League of Legends squad has a highly anticipated matchup against cross-state rival Columbia College while Rocket League has Wichita State. Both matches are set to begin at 2 p.m.
