Most Meaningful MBU Experience Outside of Athletics: “My most meaningful experience outside of volleyball has been the friends I've made and the caring teachers who have aided in my learning.”
Favorite Moment as a Beach Volleyball Student-Athlete at MBU: “My favorite moment as a beach volleyball student-athlete was getting 3rd at Nationals (2019). I would also add blocking a 6'4" girl that played on Nebraska's beach volleyball team hands down!!"
Plans After Graduation: After graduation, I plan on going to Occupational Therapy School and eventually working with children with disabilities.”
Additional Notes & Thank Yous: I would like to thank my coaches Chris Nichols and Hannah Carey for always making sure I'm giving my absolute best and making sure I was sprinting even harder than I was because they knew my potential. I would also like to thank my parents for ALWAYS encouraging and supporting me through my four years of playing both indoor and sand volleyball. They the real MVP's! And I can't forget to thank Meredith Dill as she always put up with my needy, difficult self!”

[Sarah] Bolton is a true athlete. She can play both defense and attack with ease, in fact she always wanted to block even when her partner was 6-feet tall! It’ll sure be tough to find someone with quirky comments to laugh with!

Most Meaningful MBU Experience Outside of Athletics:Countless hours in upstairs Admin with my science nerds would have to be a top memory of mine, if not being able to list any athletic related experiences.
Favorite Moment as a Beach Volleyball Student-Athlete at MBU:The places we travel to is something I will always remember and cherish. The moments in different state lines I created with my teammates are priceless.
Plans After Graduation: "I will finish my MBA and then let life take me on its beautiful adventure. Eventually, I will be an executive of some biotech company, positively influencing society."
Additional Notes & Thank Yous: A coach can make or break anyone's experience, and Nichols definitely made it. I would not have been able to endure college without my teammates and family. Lastly the teachers made it possible to survive."

Kamden [Maas] is a great team leader. She never leaves anyone behind and can always be counted on to put the team before herself. She’s been an amazing asset to the program, especially with her knowledge and ability to coach when needed. She will do great things in her future.

2020 Senior Spotlight - Sarah Wilson

Hometown: De Soto, Mo.
Major: Health Sciences
Career Highlights: No. 1 all-time in beach volleyball winning percentage (.636) … No. 3 all-time in beach volleyball wins (28) … Overall record of 28-16 in 3 seasons … Record of 10-1 in 2020 … Teamed up with Sophia Cristiani to record MBU's first ever match win over NCAA Division I volleyball powerhouse University of Nebraska-Lincoln
Most Meaningful MBU Experience Outside of Athletics: Outside of beach volleyball, my most meaningful experience at MBU has been pursuing my degree in Health Sciences, as I was taught valuable information that will be crucial in my future career. I was also lucky to have been instructed by professors that genuinely cared about my learning and my integrity/responsibilities as a college student (s/o to Dr. Brand and Dr. Elvington).
Favorite Moment as a Beach Volleyball Student-Athlete at MBU: My favorite moment as a beach volleyball student-athlete at MBU has been traveling to places such as Texas and Florida and bonding with my teammates. The girls had quickly became some of my best friends and it was a joy to see them every day. Something as simple as overwhelming the grocery store in Florida or our pregame jam sessions led by Sarah will always be dear to my heart. Getting to partner and accomplish milestones with Sophia was also such a blessing and that girl means the world to me!"
Plans After Graduation: In the fall, I will begin the Doctorate of Chiropractic program at Logan University. This summer, I plan on spending as much time as possible with friends and family while continuing to play beach through leagues and local tournaments.”
Additional Notes & Thank Yous: I would like to thank my parents for supporting me unconditionally. Particularly, I would like to thank my mom who took on the role as "team mom" by driving 15+ hours to support the team and always having snacks and shade readily available. I would also thank Dan Laure for inspiring my love for the game and Hannah Carey for pushing me to become a better player and teammate. I want any MBU beach players, present and future, to know that this sport is a gift and to savor every possible moment as an athlete. You never truly know when your last practice or game will be!”

[Sarah] Wilson is the kind of teammate anyone would be lucky to have. She showed up to every workout, game, or practice with a smile on her face and just loved the game. I’ve never seen a harder working athlete. It will be hard to replace her next season.
