In his first appearance as a Spartan, Wielgus posted a three-under 67 to edge Ottawa University's (Kan.) Clete Carlson and Evangel's Jake Brown at one-under. His 67 at the Bill and Payne Stewart Golf Course in Springfield, Missouri tied the second lowest round in MBU Men's Golf history.

Wielgus' contributions led the Spartans to a win in their fall opener, beating out five other colleges in the 18-hole, par-70 event.
