Softball catcher Payton Anderson (Gillespie, Ill.) had wasa dangerous and powerful hitter at the plate for the Spartans last week. In eight games, the junior hit .333 with two doubles, four home runs and drove in 15 RBI.

Against St. Mary-of-the-Woods, Anderson cracked two home runs and posted six RBI in a 3-for-3 performance. The was intentionally walked in her last two plate appearances of te game.

Anderson also scored eight times and posted an impressive 1.000 slugging percentage, leading the Spartans to a 6-2 record on the week.
