Gabi Jakubowska was named the Raising Cane’s November Female Athlete of the Month after posting 6.11 kills per set and a .376 attack percentage in the month, while breaking Ana Mercado’s program record for career kills (1,721). She played 18 sets, tallying eight service aces, 2.28 digs per set, and 16 total blocks.
Jakubowska helped MBU win its first Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament Championship with 19 kills in the quarterfinals against William Woods University, 11 in the semifinals against MidAmerica Nazarene University, and 27 in the finals against Park University. The Spartans then hosted Dillard University (La.) in the NAIA Opening Round on Nov. 22, where she recorded 20 kills on .395 hitting and seven block assists to push MBU into the final site.
