Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

SPARTANS ROUT STLCOP FOR 5-0 START

ST. LOUIS—[BOX SCORE] Missouri Baptist Men's Basketball stayed perfect on Saturday with a 107-62 victory over St. Louis College of Pharmacy.

After opening conference play with a big win over Park on Thursday, the Spartans started slow as heavy favorites against the Eutectics on Saturday. The visitors took an 11-4 lead early before the Spartans eventually turned it on. MBU went on a 22-5 run after that and never looked back.

The lead steadily increased from there as the Spartans took a 51-32 advantage into halftime. After the break, Missouri Baptist continued to push, holding the Eutectics to just four points in the first six minutes of the second half. The navy and white shot 57% from the field and cruised to a 45 point victory.

Fitzgerald Hopkins once again led MBU with 21 points. The senior went 8-9 from the field and 5-6 from three. Forward Torrance Littles also had a big day with 18 points. Zach Beel controlled the glass for the Spartans with nine rebounds. Freshman John Yaeger played a key role off the bench with eight points and seven rebounds.

The Spartans are now 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the AMC. They'll face Peru State (Neb.) in Columbia, Mo. in the first game of the Hampton Inn Thanksgiving Classic next Friday at 5:30 pm.
