[BOX SCORE] The Spartan win streak was halted at 11 after losing to Columbia 5-2 in nine innings. Despite a valiant effort from starter
Robby Brewster, Missouri Baptist bats fell quiet.

Columbia College got the first three runs of the game in the second and third innings. Tanner Allen plated Justin Randle with a single down the left field line in the second. In the third, Andrew Warner doubled in a run and later scored on a hit from Randle.

Cougar starter Dakota Stone kept MBU in check until the fifth inning.
General McArthur brought home the first run on an RBI double to left field. McArthur came around to score on
Drew Brooks' single to right, cutting the lead to a single run.

First baseman Andrew Warner gave Columbia some insurance in the top of the seventh with a two-run opposite field home run. The homer gave the Cougars a 5-2 lead and the eventual final score.

Brewster pitched seven solid innings giving up five runs (three earned) and striking out four batters.
Gary Watkins impressed out of the bullpen for a second consecutive day throwing two scoreless innings.

Missouri Baptist baseball resumes play on Tuesday against Missouri Valley College. The doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at Spartan Field.
