MEN'S TENNIS CRUISES PAST FREED-HARDEMAN, 6-1
RESULTS
HENDERSON, Tenn. – A win for the Missouri Baptist University men's tennis team was never in doubt Friday afternoon in its conference matchup at Freed-Hardeman University. Two matches went unfinished while a point was allotted to FHU by default in the Spartans' 6-1 win.
No. 2 doubles partners
Lucas Lobao and
Dylan Walker defeated their opponents, 8-3, while
James Wright and
Don Kern recorded an 8-2 win over
Jose Andrade and Nash Hearn to give the Spartans a 2-0 advantage heading into singles.
The No. 1 singles match between
James Tobin and FHU's Vuk Vuckovic went unfinished after the first set went in favor of Tobin, 7-6 (8). Aside from the No. 1 spot that was tightly contested, Missouri Baptist won handily in its remaining matches. Lobao was victorious 6-3, 6-0,
Ricardo Martin (No. 4) and
Drew Davis (No. 6) both won 6-1, 6-0, and Wright went 6-0, 6-1.
Prior to next week's Senior Day, the men's team will be back in action against Webster University Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Webster Groves Recreational Complex.
