Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

SPARTANS CAN’T FIND THE ANSWERS IN BATESVILLE

BATESVILLE, Ark. – Missouri Baptist Men's Basketball will return home after an 0-2 road trip to Arkansas. The Spartans fell 71-49 to Lyon College on Saturday afternoon, dropping their record to 4-3 on the season.

After an evenly played start, Lyon used an 8-1 run to build the game's first significant lead at 16-9. They would not trail for the remaining 32 minutes. The Scots eventually led 32-22 at halftime.

Out of the intermission, the Spartans cut it to 36-31 after an 'and-one' play initiated by Brendon Hardy. Again, though, Lyon would respond with a run of their own. Each time the visiting Mo. Bap came within striking distance, the Scots answered to stretch the lead. Any faint hope of a comeback was quashed by an 8-0 Lyon run culminating with just under four minutes to go in the game.

Hasaan DeCarolis' 18 points led MBU. The senior was the lone bright spot, going 6-10 from the field. Jahmouri Robinson had 12 points while Brendon Hardy had nine. Hardy also led the visitors with six rebounds. The Spartans were forced to go small for most of the day and the result was a 41-23 deficit on the boards.

Next up, after a week off for Thanksgiving, the Spartans (4-3, 0-2 AMC) will finally play at the Petty SRC for the first time in more than a month. It will be 'Pack the Petty' night as rival Columbia College comes to town for a 7:30 pm tipoff. All fans are encouraged to wear white shirts to fit the 'White Out' theme.
