BELLEVILLE, Ill. – Missouri Baptist Men's Basketball visited Lindenwood-Belleville (1-8, 0-5 AMC) for the last time on Thursday night and came out with a 72-61 victory. MBU moved to 6-4 overall and 2-3 in the AMC.

The Spartans got off to a better start than the undermanned Lynx and led 10-3 early after a
Jahmouri Robinson three-pointer. LUB recovered and took a brief one-point lead late in the half but Missouri Baptist finished the period on a 16-4 run and went into the locker room ahead 31-25.

The run continued out of the break, highlighted by a bucket from
John Yaeger to put the visitors up by double-digits for the first time. Belleville couldn't climb any closer than four points for the duration of the second half. The Spartans shot a solid 55% (16-29) from the field in the second half to secure the 11-point victory.

Brendon Hardy led the way with 18 points for MBU. He was joined in double figures by
Hasaan DeCarolis (17),
John Yaeger (12), and
Jahmouri Robinson (11). The milestone watch will continue into Saturday afternoon for Robinson after the senior finished the night with four assists. He now needs just one to tie the career record of 367.

Aumonie Armond pulled down nine rebounds to pace the Spartans on the glass. Freshman
Christian Backa was also a factor with seven points and three rebounds in 16+ minutes.

The Spartans are back in action on Saturday at home against No. 19 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.). MBU went to Kentucky and knocked the Blue Raiders off 92-85 the week before Thanksgiving. Tip time at the SRC on Saturday is scheduled for 3 pm.
