INDOOR TRACK & FIELD KICKS OFF IN COLUMBIA

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Indoor Track & Field season got underway for the men at the University of Missouri Holiday Opener in Columbia, Missouri on Friday. The Spartans had a few notable performances including a third-place finish from sophomore
TJ Lawson and a fifth-place finish from 2019 AMC First-Teamer
Kyle Christopher.
TJ Lawson had the most notable finish for the Spartans in Columbia on Friday with a third-place finish in the 400-meter dash. The East Alton, Illinois native ran a 55.21 in the event, just a couple of seconds shy of his personal best.
After a strong 2019,
Kyle Christopher was back on the floor putting up a 14.16-meter toss in the shot-put event, which was good for fifth place. The senior also participated in the weight throws where he achieved the 14.39m mark that gave him eighth-place.
Brynant Bailey and Tristan Lawson round out the field for the Spartans finishing 23
rd and 25
th in the 200-meter dash, respectively.
The Indoor Track & Field season takes a brief hiatus over Christmas break but picks back up on January 17 for the University of Missouri Open in Columbia, Missouri.
