HERNANDEZ, WOODFALL NAMED NAIA ALL-AMERICANS

ST. LOUIS— The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2018-19 Men's Basketball All-Americans on Thursday and Missouri Baptist senior Pablo Hernandez was named to the First Team. Fellow senior Kai Woodfall made the Honorable Mention list.

For Hernandez, the final accolade of his playing career caps off a historic four-year run. The native of Ames, Spain averaged 14.8 points per game in 2018-19 and led the Spartans to a program-record 28 wins, an AMC Regular Season title, and a berth in the NAIA Division I National Tournament. He was also named American Midwest Conference Player of the Year.

Hernandez also made his mark on the MBU career record book. The senior became the 18th player in program history to reach 1,000 points and finished 12th with 1,268 for his career. Hernandez made exactly 500 field goals in his four years, while also pulling down 491 total rebounds.

Kai Woodfall made a major impact in his lone year as a Spartan. The senior from Launceston, Australia started all 33 games and averaged 13.6 ppg. Woodfall made 104 three-pointers, ranking him No. 6 in DI NAIA. He became the first Spartan in 11 years to drain 100 or more from behind the arc.
