ST. LOUIS—Missouri Baptist Baseball (24-11) locked down College of the Ozarks (16-21) in a pair of seven-inning contests on Saturday afternoon, securing a three-game sweep with scores of 3-1 and 6-1. The Spartans finished an eight-game week with a record of 7-1.

MBU will now hit the road for five games next week. They'll travel to Cedar Rapids, Iowa on Tuesday for a doubleheader against Mount Mercy University.

Game one saw another dominant pitching display from
Austin Worrell (5-1). The redshirt freshman allowed just one run and six hits in six innings. He struck out four with no walks.

The Spartans managed just five hits on offense but made the most of their opportunities. In the first inning,
Caleb Dean led off with a single and moved to third on a base hit by
DeShawn Lookout. Dean then caught the COZ battery napping and stole home to score the game's first run.

They would add two more in the fourth with the help of a Bobcat error and a double by Dean to score
Nick Politte. Dean's 25
th RBI of the season made it 3-0. After COFO finally touched Worrell for one run in the sixth,
Manny Pizarro secured his sixth save with a perfect seventh inning.

The Spartans secured the sweep with a 6-1 victory in game two.
Josh Ray (5-1), the second part of Mo. Bap's deadly 1-2 punch, tossed a complete game (his second of the week) with 13 strikeouts (his second 10+ K performance of the week).

The bats gave Ray all the run support he would need in the first inning.

Drew Brooks before an out was recorded. RBIs 31 and 32 increased the team lead for the Moore, Okla. product.

The Spartans added one in the fourth and two in the fifth for a 5-0 lead. Dean contributed the base-hit to make it 3-0 and
Sid Kumar's team-leading eighth home run of the year put it out of reach in the fifth.
Anthony Enwiya added on with an RBI single for a 6-0 lead in the next inning.

College of the Ozarks managed just their third hit of the game in the final frame, an RBI single by Kyle Abrahamson, before Ray finished it off with his 13
th and final strikeout.Â
