SPARTANS TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS AT HASKELL

LAWRENCE, Kan. – MBU men's basketball (4-2) defeated Haskell Indian Nations University (2-5) 83-41 on Monday night on the road.

The Spartans scored the opening bucket 20 seconds in and never trailed for the entire 40 minutes. Coming off a 28-point win on Saturday night where they shot 57%, MBU continued to score the ball at a high rate on Monday. They matched Saturday's FG% in the first half (16-28).

Brendon Hardy paced the visitors with 10 first half points and finished the night with 17 (7-12 FG, 3-6 3PT). John Yaeger had 15 points and finished one rebound shy of his ninth career double-double. Graduate senior RJ Pair also had another good shooting night with 14 points on 5-9 FG.

Yaeger, along with River Reed and Daishaun Woods, played big part in the Spartans pulling down 50+ rebounds for the second time this season. Reed and Woods grabbed six boards apiece as Mo Bap won the glass battle 51-27.

Now with four wins in their last five games, the Spartans will ramp up the difficulty level when they head to Peru, Neb. on Friday. As part of the AMC/Heart Classic, they'll face No. 18 Benedictine (Kan.) (5-1) on Friday night and tournament hosts Peru State on Saturday (1-4).
