ST. LOUIS – For the second time in his career, standout offensive lineman K.J. Satcher has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced Thursday morning.
 
Acknowledged as one of the most selective and prestigious awards in college athletics, the Academic All-America® program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average, be an important starter or reserve, and have completed one full calendar year at their current institution.
 
Satcher, a biology major, receives the award after maintaining a 3.74 cumulative GPA in the classroom while anchoring an offensive line that surrendered just three sacks in the seven games this spring.
 
"K.J. is a great leader on our team," said Head Coach Jason Burianek. "He represents our pillars and works to be excellent in everything he does. I couldn't be more proud and happy for him."
 
In his career, the Jacksonville, Alabama native has now collected two CoSida Academic All-District First Team Honors, two MSFA All-Academic team awards, and received MSFA Midwest Honorable Mention All-Conference honors in 2019.
 
Satcher now moves on to the CoSida Academic All-America® Ballot as a First Team All-District Selection. First-, second- and third-team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on July 15.
