ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist University cross country sophomore Donovan Denslow was voted American Midwest Conference (AMC) Runner of the Week on Monday following an individual title at the Illinois Wesleyan University Titan Opener. He becomes the first MBU men's cross country runner in recent years to earn the conference's weekly honor.

Denslow, who transferred to MoBap from Mineral Area College, made the most of his MBU debut with the gold-medal performance on Wednesday in Bloomington, Ill. The Eolia, Mo. native conquered the three-mile race in 15:29.36 and finished 11 seconds faster than the next closest competitor.

Denslow's first-place finish out of 115 runners also helped propel the Spartans to a third-place finish in the team standings.

The AMC Runner of the Week and his teammates will be back in action at the Columbia College Larry Young Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 18.
