SPARTANS EARN SEVEN TOP-THREE FINISHES AT EIU JOHN CRAFT INVITE

CHARLESTON, Ill.- Missouri Baptist Track & Field competed in the EIU John Craft Invite for the first time since Jan. 2020.
Camden Woolbright was the lone Spartan to earn first place during the meet.
Woolbright was able to overcome his competition and not only placed first with a height of 3.80 meters in the pole vault, he also set a new personal record as well. The junior carried that over to the 60 meter hurdles when he set a new PR in the prelims with a time of 8.66. Woolbright went on to finish fifth overall with a time of 8.75.
The Spartans were able to secure multiple second and third place finishes during the meet.
Donovan Denslow placed second in the 3000 meter run with a time of 8:32.04, earning a new PR. Blake Morris, who competed in the 800 meter run, placed second with a time of 2:10.17.
Alaina Scott was able to secure second in the pole vault out of the three that competed with a height of 3.05 meters. The women's 4000 meter distance medley relay team took second with a team consisting of
Adrienne Rockette,
Grace Bostic,
Isabel Rinkenberger, and
Mia Reed. They finished the medley only seconds behind first place, Eastern Illinois, with a time of 12:59.50.
Josiah Heras took part in the 600 meter run, earning third with a time of 1:27.77. The men's 4 X 400 meter relay team ended the night for the Spartans with a third place finish as well. The relay team made up of
Camden Woolbright,
Dorian Gray, Blake Morris, and
Josiah Heras clocked in a time of 3:40.18.
The Spartans had other top five finishes from
Jordan Walker-Wright, who took fourth in shot put (13.47m) and fifth in the weight throw (13.71m). The women's 4 X 400 meter relay team of
Perri Hogan,
Mattie Noyes, Madison Sargent and
Haley Hernandez finished fourth with a time of 4:40.21.
Other runners to note were
Brianna Sansoucie,
Brooke Heberer,
Jack Warmann, and
Keon Graham, who were able to earn themselves new PRs during the meet. Sansoucie earned a new PR in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 10.36 while Heberer was able to set a new PR in the mile with a time of 6:13.82.
Jack Warmann who took part in the 3000 meter run set a new PR of 9:29.82.
Keon Graham set two new PRs in the 60 meter hurdles and the 400 meter dash with times of 9.10 and 56.91 respectively.
Next up for the Spartans is the NAIA/JUCO Challenge hosted by Pittsburg State University on Saturday, Jan 21 in Pittsburg, Kan.
