SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Placing ninth among 16 teams participating in the Bethel University Invitational 8K, Missouri Baptist University Men's Cross Country fought hard to keep its name in the top 10 of the standings.
Senior superstar Donovan Denslow placed third overall out of 182 contenders with a solid time of 24:57.03.
The next Spartan to cross the finish line was David Fletcher at 26:24.02, earning 23rd overall. With his time, Fletcher set a new PR shaving almost 10 seconds off of his previous record.
Coming in 65th place, freshman Grant Patten finished third among the MBU runners in the 8K with a new PR of 28:02.00.
Ethan Bliss (28:40.09) took 77th place and was the fourth Spartan to complete the event. Other notable performances came from Charlie McCallister (28:53:07) and Josiah Heras (29:04:01).
MoBap's next event will be the final tune-up before the conference championship. On Oct. 21, the Spartans will head to the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge hosted by Aquinas College, an event that will include some of top schools in the NAIA.
