MBU Competitive Cheer Opens Season at 17th

Nebraska- Missouri Baptist University Competitive Cheerleading opens their 2023 season with three competitions this last weekend. The Spartans traveled to York, Neb. and then to Steward, Neb. the following day to put themselves on the.

On Friday, at the Crown Classic Invitational hosted by York University the Spartans made themselves known by jumping to 17th overall starting the season. Despite minor bobbles MBU Co-Ed cheer ended their day with a score of 78.05 taking 6th place in the competition.

The following day, Saturday 11th, MBU sets to Concordia University (29) for a day of duels. The Spartans, having a taste of the action, started this day wanting more than they got yesterday. MBU was first to preform that morning against No. 8 Midland University (84.2). Despite the defeat Missouri Baptist improves (80.3) from before. For their Second duel of the day, they took No.38 Doane University (76.15) and swept a win with a score of 86.4.

At the conclusion of Saturdays' action, the Spartans were ranked 17th of 71 teams across the NAIA. A total score improvement of 8.35 from the start of the weekend to now.

The Spartans will push forward and host the Spartan Showcase Friday, February 17th at 6:00 P.M.
