Two Spartans Win Rookie of the Year, Five Named to All-Conference Teams at Heart Championships

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Amber Lymenstull and Dylan Chastain claimed Heart of America Athletic Conference Bowling Rookies of the Year while five from Missouri Baptist University claimed all-conference honors. The awards were announced at the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championships, where the women took third of eight teams, and the men took fourth.

In addition to Lymenstull's selection as the Rookie of the Year, she was named to the All-Heart Second Team along with junior teammate Kassandra Foss. The men's Rookie of the Year, Dylan Chastain, landed on the all-conference second team, Charlie Hunter was put on the first team, and freshman Jonah Fisher on the third team.

In the Heart Conference Championships, the third-seeded women went 2-0 on Saturday including a 2-0 win over the No. 6 seed Columbia College and a 2-1 victory over the No. 2 seed William Penn University. On Sunday, they fell into the consolation bracket after a loss to the eventual champion Culver-Stockton College and were eliminated in the next contest against Columbia.

The men took fourth of eight and went 2-1 on Saturday with a win over fifth-seeded Missouri Valley College, a 2-0 loss to the top-seeded William Penn University, and an elimination victory over No.3 seed Baker University. In a second elimination game to begin Sunday, the Spartans were ousted by MVC to end their run.
