AUSTIN, Texas – Carter Sabol from Missouri Baptist University baseball was selected to the 2025 Baseball Academic All-America® First Team as chosen by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) and announced on Tuesday (July 1).
Established in 1952 and selected by College Sports Communicators, the Academic All-America® program is the longest-running and premier award for athletic and academic success. Student-athletes who are nominated must have a minimum 3.50 GPA and must be a starter or important reserve on their team.
Sabol performed well both on and off the field throughout the season, maintaining a 3.75 GPA. The Illinois native earned many distinctions this year, including American Midwest Conference (AMC) Pitcher of the Year, AMC Newcomer Pitcher of the Year, All-AMC First Team, Academic All-AMC, CSC Academic All-District®, and he received AMC Pitcher of the Week recognition three times throughout the season.
The graduate student led the team with a 12-2 record while posting a 2.61 ERA. He struck out 107 batters in just 76 innings. This led his opponents to a mere .214 average while throwing four complete games.
Sabol's academic success will add to the third consecutive season that MBU baseball has put a student-athlete on a CSC Academic All-America® team.
The NAIA Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NAIA national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 NAIA Academic All-America® program.
