ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Missouri Baptist University senior women's volleyball opposite Gabi Jakubowska and junior men's basketball guard Javaris Moye have been selected as Raising Cane's November Athletes of the Month.  

Gabi Jakubowska was named the Raising Cane's November Female Athlete of the Month after posting 6.11 kills per set and a .376 attack percentage in the month, while breaking Ana Mercado's program record for career kills (1,721). She played 18 sets, tallying eight service aces, 2.28 digs per set, and 16 total blocks. 
  
Jakubowska helped MBU win its first Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament Championship with 19 kills in the quarterfinals against William Woods University, 11 in the semifinals against MidAmerica Nazarene University, and 27 in the finals against Park University. The Spartans then hosted Dillard University (La.) in the NAIA Opening Round on Nov. 22, where she recorded 20 kills on .395 hitting and seven block assists to push MBU into the final site. 

Javaris Moye averaged 15.6 points over seven November starts, shooting 43.0 percent from the field and 82.2 percent at the line. He added 3.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 2.7 steals per game while scoring in double figures every outing. Moye posted a month-high 24 points against UHSP on Nov. 8 and finished with 109 total points. 
 
He additionally won Heart of America Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Nov. 24, totaling six steals, six rebounds, two blocks, and two assists across just 37 minutes, all while battling a foot/ankle injury that limited his minutes in both games. 

The Raising Cane's Athlete of the Month award recognizes outstanding performances by Missouri Baptist University student-athletes throughout the academic year.
