ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist University football capped its first week of fall camp Saturday with a two-hour scrimmage at Spartan Field.
The Spartans rotated through a variety of offensive and defensive situations, giving players the chance to apply what they learned during the opening week of camp.
“I thought the pace was pretty good,” head coach Jason Burianek said. “Overall, I thought we started pretty good. The offense did some good things and the defense got some stops. It was a good-spirited go and what you want to see in the first scrimmage after the first five days.”
Junior running back Phil Jordan provided the highlight of the day with a 50-yard touchdown run. Jordan also noted the team’s depth in the backfield. “I think we have one of the best running back rooms in the country,” he said.
