Dual-Threat Dominance: Jones Named Heart Offensive Player of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Missouri Baptist University quarterback Jacob Jones was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after delivering a historic performance in the Spartans' 52–17 season-ending victory over William Woods.

Jones finished with 286 total yards and four touchdowns, throwing for 182 yards and two scores while adding 104 rushing yards and two more touchdowns. With the performance, he became the first quarterback in MBU history to record more than 100 passing yards and 100 rushing yards in the same game.

The sophomore also capped his season by becoming just the second quarterback in program history to surpass 2,000 passing yards in a single season, ending the year with 2,095 yards through the air.

This marks Jones' second Heart weekly honor of the season and the third for a Spartan in 2025.

MBU concludes the 2025 season at 4–6 overall and 3–3 in Heart play, winning two straight to close the year.
