Javis Flynn

The 2018-19 season is Javis Flynn’s first as an assistant coach for Missouri Baptist men’s basketball. The Watonga, Okla. is a 2016 graduate of Pittsburg State (Kan.) where he played two seasons for the Gorillas. In 2017-18, Flynn was a women’s basketball assistant coach at Carl Junction High School (Mo.). where Bulldogs went 23-3 and made the first state championship appearance in school history.
 
Collegiately, Flynn started all 29 games as a senior guard in the 2015-16 season for Pitt State, averaging eight points, five assists, and five rebounds per game. He was a two-time All-Defensive Team selection for the MIAA.
 
Prior to his time at Pitt State, Flynn attended Pratt Community College where he was named to the All-Conference Second Team for the Jayhawk Conference-West Division. He averaged eight points, four rebounds, and nine assists in his two seasons at Pratt.
 
Flynn attended Watonga High School and was a First Team All-District selection as a senior in 2012. He averaged 20 points, five rebounds, and seven assists per game. He was also an All-State selection as a wide receiver for the football team.
 
Javis will be working towards his Master’s degree in Sport Management at MBU.
