Proleine Williams

Missouri Baptist University announced Proleine Williams as the new Head Track & Field Coach on Thursday, June 5, 2025. 
 
Williams is an MBU alumna and ran on the track & field team for the Spartans from 2019-22. She returns after a year as the Assistant Track & Field and Cross Country Coach/Recruiting Coordinator at Juniata College in Huntingdon, Penn., and a season as an Assistant Track & Field Coach at Maryville University.
 
At Juniata, Williams expanded the team from 31 athletes to 58 student-athletes by the end of her one-year tenure in December 2024. She also assisted head coaches with the day-to-day operations of the team, with a primary focus on recruiting to bring in new prospective athletes. She also oversaw retention, training plans for all 100m to 400m sprinters, and travel plans.
 
With Williams’ influence, the Eagles had five earn all-conference honors, five earn United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region, six earn conference medals, a pair of conference event champions, and had more than 30 broken personal records.
 
At Maryville, Williams created weekly plans and executed workouts for 86 student-athletes to improve performances at meets, while also working on social media platforms, weekly newsletters, fundraising initiatives, travel plans, and academic checks.
 
As a student-athlete, Williams was a team captain for three consecutive years, qualified for the NAIA Indoor National meet in the 60m dash in 2019, and earned a place on the American Midwest Conference All-Conference teams five times. She additionally spent time off the track serving as the MBU Residence Director & Coordinator of Student Life Graduate Assistant for nearly a year and a half, and as the Intramural Sports Coordinator Graduate Assistant for five months.
 
Her playing career accolades began in 2019 as she placed second overall in the 60m and the 200m in the AMC Indoor Championships and was an All-Conference Third Team selection in the 60m at the outdoor meet.  In 2021, she landed on the All-AMC Third Team in the 4x100m and the 200m at the outdoor championships.
 
Williams received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education & Coaching from MBU in December 2021 and followed up with a Master of Science in Sports Management in December 2023.
 
 Originally from Nassau, Bahamas, Williams now resides in St. Louis with her husband.
