Kirwyn Adderley, who has served as a women's assistant at MBU since 2021, was named Head Women's Wrestling Coach / Assistant Men's Wrestling Coach in March 2022.
Prior to arriving at Missouri Baptist, Adderley was Head Women's Wrestling Coach at Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando, Fla. from 2017-21. At Dr. Phillips, he led the team to five consecutive state championships with 21 individual champions and six All-Americans. In 2018 and 2019, Adderley was named Dr. Phillips Coach of the Year.
Through high school and club coaching in the states of Florida, Missouri, Nevada, and Virginia, the veteran leader has coached 31 individual state champions, more than 50 state medalists, and 12 High School All-Americans.
After his wrestling career, Adderley served as an assistant head coach at his alma mater, Norfolk State University, from 1990-95. He graduated from NSU in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
Adderley had quite the success story as a student-athlete at Norfolk State. With no high school wrestling experience, Kirwyn walked on to the NSU wrestling program and became a three-time NCAA DII qualifier, two-time NCAA DII All-American with a sixth-place finish in 1988 and a runner-up finish in 1989 that led to an NCAA DI national tournament appearance.
