Evanee Cooper

Evanee Cooper was named the first head coach of the Missouri Baptist University women's flag football program in March 2026. She will lead the Spartans as the university launches varsity flag football, with the program set to begin competition in the spring of 2027.

Cooper arrives at Missouri Baptist with experience as both a collegiate student-athlete and a high school coach. A 2025 graduate of Reinhardt University, she earned a bachelor's degree in sports studies and graduated magna cum laude. While at Reinhardt, Cooper competed as a women's flag football student-athlete, gaining firsthand experience in the rapidly growing sport.

Following her playing career, Cooper moved into coaching in Newnan, Georgia, where she has served as both a head and assistant girls' flag football coach. In that role, she has overseen practice planning, player evaluation, and game preparation while designing and implementing offensive and defensive schemes. Cooper has also led skill development sessions and emphasized leadership, discipline, and football IQ among her student-athletes.

In addition to her work with flag football, Cooper has served as an assistant girls' basketball coach, assisting with practice organization and individual skill development.

Cooper has also been involved in recruiting and event operations, assisting with the planning and execution of prospect camps and conducting outreach to high school flag football programs. She has volunteered with Kids and Pros Inc. in Atlanta, helping organize youth football camps and working with more than 100 athletes on skill development and player safety.

At Missouri Baptist, Cooper will build the Spartans' program from the ground up as the university expands opportunities for student-athletes by adding women's flag football.

The Spartans will begin competition in the spring of 2027 as the sport continues to grow at the collegiate level. The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics approved women's flag football as an invitational sport for the 2025–26 season after launching it as an emerging sport in 2021.
