Harley Story is in his second year at Missouri Baptist University, where he serves as an assistant coach for the men’s basketball program. In this role, he focuses on player development, DOBO responsibilities, community outreach, game preparation, and mentoring student-athletes both on and off the court.
Before MBU, Harley served as the Assistant Coach at Parkway Central for girls' basketball, leading the team with an emphasis on skill development, teamwork, and competitive growth. Before PCH, he had a two-year stint at MICDS in St. Louis, where he played a pivotal role in helping the boys basketball team secure a District title and a postseason run. His approach emphasizes fundamentals, basketball IQ, and fostering a culture of accountability and resilience.
Before attending MICDS, Harley founded the Hall of Fame Sports Organization in Southern Illinois, creating opportunities for young athletes in his hometown to participate in organized basketball programs. His organization emphasizes positive development, life skills, and the use of basketball as a tool to build character and confidence.
Harley’s coaching journey began at Maryville University, where he recognized the transformative power of intentional player development. He further expanded his experience in Southern California, joining the largest youth sports organization in the region and honing his ability to develop players in highly competitive environments.
