Tyler Andrus serves as the Assistant Athletic Director for Media & Communications at Missouri Baptist University, where he leads the department’s strategic communications, digital content direction, and publicity efforts for 28 varsity sports. He was appointed to the role in June 2024 after previously working in multiple communications capacities across the NAIA and NCAA levels.

At MBU, Andrus oversees all communications and media relations operations, including digital strategy,  brand management, supervising statistical operations for all sports, producing award submissions at the conference and national levels, storytelling, and feature writing across MBUSpartans.com, the Spartan Digital Network, and all official social platforms. He manages a creative staff of graduate assistants and directs sport-by-sport content planning, messaging, and day-to-day digital execution. In his first year, he guided significant audience expansion across MBU’s channels, including more than 4.3 million Instagram views, 551,000 Twitter/X impressions, and nearly 100,000 broadcast loads on the Spartan Digital Network.

Before returning to Missouri Baptist, Andrus spent two years as Athletics Communications Coordinator at Maryville University, serving as the primary strategic communications contact for 14 NCAA Division II programs. He directed home event operations for 23 sports, managed student workers, strengthened live stream production standards, and built analytics-based reports to guide digital strategy.

From 2021–22, Andrus served as Sports Information Director for the American Midwest Conference, overseeing communications for 10 NAIA institutions. He led branding initiatives, championship event coverage, and all league-wide statistics reporting, while also serving as the conference’s primary graphic designer and website administrator.

Andrus previously held roles as a graduate assistant and intern in the MBU communications office from 2017–21, contributing to operations for all varsity sports while expanding the department’s digital strategy, record-keeping systems, and student-worker training programs. He also interned with Saint Louis University in 2018, assisting with record book reconstruction, statistics operations, and event support for NCAA postseason competition.

A Magna Cum Laude graduate of Missouri Baptist University, Andrus earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sport Management with a minor in Business Administration before completing his Master of Business Administration at MBU.
