The MBU volleyball team had a full week of play last week, facing one conference opponent before playing five non-conference matches The Lady Spartans managed to win their American Midwest Conference match, to put them at 4-2 in the AMC. They finished out the week at 10-12 overall. 
In AMC action, the Lady Spartans handled rival McKendree University in three games at home on Tuesday, winning 25-19, 25-20, 25-20. MBU picked up a non-conference win at Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Mo. on Thursday, beating the Lady Vikings in four games; 25-23, 23-25, 25-19, 25-18. 
 
After success in their first two matches of the week, the Lady Spartans walked away from the Lindenwood University Tournament in St. Charles, Mo. with just one win. MBU easily beat William Jewell College on Friday night, winning in three games; 25-19, 25-19, 25-17. The Lady Spartans lost matches to Benedictine College (25-17, 25-20, 17-25, 25-16), Evangel University (24-26, 26-24, 13-25, 25-21, 15-12), and Campbellsville University (25-17, 25-21, 18-25, 25-14). Senior outside hitter Katie Povis (St. Louis/Parkway South HS) was named to the All-Tournament Team.
