The MBU women's volleyball team closed out American Midwest Conference play with two wins, securing a third place finish in the AMC. The Lady Spartans may share third with McKendree University, pending the outcome of Saturday's match between McKendree and Williams Baptist College.
MBU finishes behind first place Columbia College and second place William Woods University. Columbia has swept through the AMC with a perfect 14-0 record, securing first places with two AMC matches yet to play.
 
The Lady Spartans secured their third place finish with home wins over Hannibal-LaGrange College last Tuesday and Park University on Friday. MBU fended off the Lady Trojans, battling five games for the victory: 18-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-21, 15-11.  On Friday, the Lady Spartans made much quicker work of claiming the victory over the Park Lady Pirates, winning in three games: 25-15, 25-18, 25-20.
 
Missouri Baptist will conclude its regular season with a non-conference home match against Maryville University at 7:00 p.m. this Tuesday. The Lady Spartans are currently 21-16 overall, 11-5 in the AMC. Having finished in the top half of the conference, MBU will host its first round game of the AMC Tournament, which begins Tuesday, November 10.
