MEN'S BASKETBALL GETS WIN OVER MID-CONTINENT

The MBU men's basketball team avenged an earlier season loss to Mid-Continent University on Tuesday night, picking up an 85-80 victory over the Cougars at MBU. The win improves the Spartans' overall record to 5-6. 
   
MBU senior guard Kyle Hubbard led the Spartans in scoring, with 21 points. He  9-of-13 from the field, 2-of-4 from three-point land. Also scoring in double digits for MBU were LeAndre' Johnson with 20 points, Brandon Roberson with 17 points, and Jordan Flora with 11 points. The Spartans shot 54.9% from the field and connected for 7 three-pointers.
 
On Saturday, the Spartans traveled to Bolivar, Mo. to face NCAA Division II Southwest Baptist University in exhibition play. The Spartans lost the game 75-106.
 
The Spartans will compete locally against NCAA D-III competition this weekend, as they play in the Webster University Classic December 11th and 12th. MBU will face Millikin University at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, and the host Gorlocks at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
