Women's Basketball Loses to Williams Baptist
The Lady Spartan basketball team suffered an 85-80 AMC†loss to Williams Baptist College on the road on Saturday. The loss takes MBU to the .500 mark in conference for the first time this season at 6-6. They are 13-10 overall.
The Lady Eagles dominated the first 30 minutes of play, leading 37-29 at the half. They extended their lead to as much as 22 points during the second half, before the Lady Spartan offense began to click. MBU connected on seven second half threes to stay in the contest. The Lady Spartan comeback run would fall short though, as they†lost their second AMC contest of the week.
MBU junior guard Alexis Rhoades led all scorers with 26 points. Junior forward Ashley Johnson picked up yet another double-double, pulling down 10 boards, and chipping in 16 points. Freshman guard Andrea Seabaugh rounded out MBU's double-figure scorers with 17 points and six assists.
The Lady Spartans will host Hannibal-LaGrange College in American Midwest Conference play at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday night.
