The MBU men's tennis team was narrowly defeated by NAIA opponent Baker University (Kans.) on the road on Friday, April 2. With the 5-4 loss, the Spartans are now 3-5 on the season.
 
The Spartans picked up one win in doubles play, with the number three team of Nick Deaton and Nick Jannett winning 8-3. In singles play, Jannett and Deaton again got wins at the number three and number five spots respectively. Getting the final win for MBU was Pershard Owens at number four singles. 

The Spartans will travel locally to NAIA opponent Lindenwood University on Thursday, April 8. They will face the Lions at 3:30 p.m.
