Chesterfield, Mo.- After their tough loss to Columbia College, the Missouri Baptist women's volleyball team was able to get back to their winning ways by beating Missouri Valley College 25-13, 25-15 and 25-16 in dominating fashion.
The first game Missouri Baptist jumped out to an early 12-6 lead on Missouri Valley. The team showed a lot of energy in the first game with power spikes and great defensive plays. The Spartans never lost their lead as they went on a 13-7 run to win the first set 25-13.
The Spartans were able to make some great defensive plays early in the second set to keep the Vikings struggling offensively. MBU continued its strong start on offense as they were able to jump out to a 10-5 lead and never let Missouri Valley get close as the team went on to win the second set 25-15.
After the Vikings jumped out to a 2-1 lead the Spartans went on a 10-0 run to make it 11-2 before Missouri Valley could get their next point. Once Missouri Baptist had the lead they never looked back as they were able to finish off the Vikings winning the final set and match 25-16.
With the win the team moves to 24-3 on the year and will look to get a conference win on the road against Harris-Stowe State University on October 24th at 5:00 and 6:00 p.m.
