SPARTANS WOMEN BASKETBALL WINNING STREAK SNAPPED

Point Lookout, Mo.- The Missouri Baptist women's basketball team headed to face College of the Ozarks searching for its fourth win in a row. The team was unable to get their offense going, as they fell 77-36. 
 
The Spartans was looking for a strong start against a tough Lady Bobcat team that was 6-1 on the year. Things did not go as planned for the Spartans in the first half as the team was down 37-20 at the end of the first 20 minutes.
 
Neither team shot particularly well in the first half. Missouri Baptist shot 25%, while the Lady Bobcats shot 37% from the field. The team knew it needed to get back into the game early in the next half.
 
MBU was unable to knock many shots down as the team forced just 16 second half points and went on to lose 77-36. The team was 5-24 from the field and in the game were 2-19 from three point range. College of the Ozarks shot 37% from the field, but did outrebound the Spartans 56-34.
 
The team was led by Mandy Kirby with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Missouri Baptist turned the ball over 21 times but did force 12 Lady Bobcat turnovers.
 
The Spartans will look to start a new winning streak when they play Haskell Indian Nations University on December 3rd at 3:00 p.m.
