Fayette, Mo. - The Missouri Baptist women's volleyball squad won three straight at Central Methodist University on Thursday evening, extending its win streak to four 25-17, 25-18 and 25-20.
The number 20-ranked Spartans, now 12-1, have yet to lose a set since Sept. 3, 2011, when the team dropped its only match to the top-ranked University of Texas at Brownsville.
On Thursday, former American Midwest Conference (AMC) Volleyball Player of the Week
Megan Moore was the offensive star. Moore led the Spartan attack with eight kills on the night. However,
Katie Povis was nearly as effective, recording six kills in the match.
Setting Povis and Moore all night was current Spartan Athlete of the week
Lauren Stuckel. The senior setter had 26 assists in the contest. On the defensive side, MBU was led my
Madeline Nesbit. The sophomore from Belleville, Ill. recorded four blocks on Thursday to lead her team in the category.
The Spartans will head west on Friday for a showdown with conference rival, Park University. Game time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. in Parkville, Mo.
