MBU VOLLEYBALL BLANKS STEPHENS

ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Missouri Baptist women's volleyball completed its regular season home schedule on Thursday night with a 3-0 victory against Stephens College.

On a night where the Spartans celebrated senior night, the team cruised to its 30th win of the season, thanks to the dominant play of Maddy Hammack (11 kills, .476 attack percentage).

The Spartans began the first set with a lead and seemed to be at the top of its game from the first serve. MBU built a 12-5 lead early and continued to press the Stars. Sophomore Molly DeClue led the team with two aces on the way to a 25-15 win.

The second set was much closer through the first 10 points. Stephens tied the score at seven off an attack error by Spartan freshman Taylor Cook. It was at this point, however, that Missouri Baptist began to take over. With a slight 15-13 advantage, MBU went on a 10-3 run to close out the set 25-16.

Stephens jumped out to an early 7-2 lead on the No. 13-ranked Spartans before Missouri Baptist found its feet. MBU went on a 16-1 run to take an 18-8 lead late in the third set on the way to a 25-10 win.

Prior to the match, the team honored its lone senior, Morgan Orlando. The right side hitter recieved her first start and recorded three kills and seven digs.

With the victory, Missouri Baptist moves to 30-2 on the season. The team will head on the road for its final two matches of the season.
