ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Missouri Baptist men's tennis team made it two wins in a row on Tuesday evening against the Maryville Saints in a 6-3 victory.
The Spartans, now 2-2 on the season, won two of three doubles matches and four of six singles in the contest. The duo of Mike Rubinelli and Drew Morris continued its undefeated streak, beating Maryville's Alexis Villeneuve and Jesse Fortune 8-6.
Rubinelli was outstanding all day, winning his singles match over Fortune in straight sets, 7-5 and 6-0. His strong play, along with singles winners Ian Furey, Cole Stevenson and Nathan Stachowski, were big in the team win.
The Spartans, now at .500 on the season, will have some time off before it's first home action of the season. The next match is scheduled for March 9 at Shaw Park in Clayton, Mo., against University of the Ozarks.
