SPARTANS DROP FIRST GAME OF CONFERENCE PLAY

PARKVILLE, Mo. – The Missouri Baptist women's basketball team dropped their first game of the American Midwest Conference play to the Park Pirates 53-43 on Thursday night.

MBU had a 22-18 lead at the half, but went ice cold shooting in the second half. They went 0-8 from behind the arc in the second half.

The Spartans had a very rough night of shooting from the field, hitting just over 25 percent and only 12 percent from 3-point range.

Despite the shooting woes, MBU had two players in double digits. Lauren Taylor had 11 points and Jasmine Jackson added 10 points.

The Spartans have lost seven of their last eight games and fall to 3-10 on the season. MBU looks to turn things around Sat. Jan. 5 as they travel to Columbia, Mo. to battle against Stevens College. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
