ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist women's volleyball extended its winning streak to 16 matches on Tuesday night in a 3-0 win over St. Louis College of Pharmacy.
Missouri Baptist (18-1, 5-0 AMC) recorded another victory thanks in large part to a full team effort. Freshman Jen Brendel led the team with eight kills and a .350 attack percentage in the home win. Brendel set a career-high in the process in kills.
The Spartans played the Eutectics close in the early stages of each set, but pulled away thanks to a strong offensive effort by Brendel and Cassie Nesbit. An outside hitter from St. Louis, Nesbit recorded seven kills and 11 digs on the night in three sets.
For the Eutectics, Ashley Walter led the way with nine kills while Kelly Plach posted four kills and a .571 attack percentage.
Next up for Missouri Baptist is a Thursday night conference showdown with Hannibal-LaGrange. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Carl and Deloris Petty Sports and Recreation Complex.
