SPARTANS CLIP WINGS OF OWLS IN FINAL CONFERENCE MATCH

FULTON, Mo. – Missouri Baptist took no prisoners on Friday night, playing from behind on different occasions in the first two sets as the team rolled to a 3-0 win over the William Woods Owls.

Missouri Baptist (26-6, 9-2 AMC) looked to brush-off a three-set loss at Park University just 48 hours prior and did just that. Sophomore Taylor Cook led the charge beginning in the first set. The outside hitter took control and recorded six kills and an attack percentage of .714 in the Spartan first-set 25-22 victory.

Cook continued to impress through the second set. Though MBU began the game down 6-1, the team roared back. The Spartans went on an 8-3 run to tie the set at nine.

MBU continued to apply pressure. Ally Krus compiled 12 assists while right-side hitter Hannah Carey had four kills and a .571 attack percentage in the 25-20 set win.

The third set was all Missouri Baptist. The Spartans dominated from the first serve to the last and, at one point, led by as many as 14 and rolled to a 25-11 win.

MBU was led by Cook, who finished with 12 kills on 18 attempts on the night. Krus was also impressive with 37 assists while Hannah Carey completed her night with nine kills and a .421 attack percentage.

The Spartans will now await their opponent in the Quarterfinals of the AMC Tournament. Missouri Baptist will host on Tuesday, Nov. 12.
